- Diet: Insectivore, primarily eats crickets, grasshoppers, beetles and ants
- Seasonal Habits: Enters a hibernation like state called brumation from Oct - Mar
- Temperament: Not aggressive
They are more like their ancient predecessors than other reptiles are. Most eat insects, but some eat small animals or plants. They are very good at avoiding capture and many can even release their tail and grow a new one if captured from behind.
