Double-crested Cormorants are large waterbirds with a stocky body and small heads on long, kinked necks. They have thin, strongly hooked bills, roughly the length of the head. Their heavy bodies sit low in the water. They are black but can have a tinge of iridescent green if the sun hits them just right.
